A youth-led, community-centred solar initiative bringing clean, affordable energy to off-grid villages in Botswana. We turn sunlight into opportunity — through solar mini-grids, technical training for youth, and incubation of solar-powered businesses.
Maungo a Letsatsi — meaning Fruits of the Sun — is a youth-led, community-centred solar initiative bringing clean, affordable energy to off-grid villages in Botswana. Our mission is to turn sunlight into opportunity.
We install solar mini-grids that power homes, clinics, and schools. We train youth — especially young women — as certified solar technicians, creating visible role models in a sector where youth and women are underrepresented. We help young people start solar-powered micro-enterprises.
We operate under Argus Technologies, a 100% citizen-owned Botswana company registered in 2025.
A Botswana where no community is left in the dark, and where youth – especially young women – lead the green economy.
Installing solar panels with battery storage to power homes, clinics, schools, and community businesses in Botswana's most remote and underserved villages.
Providing hands-on training for youth — especially young women — to become certified solar technicians. They learn installation, maintenance, and repair, creating local jobs and visible role models.
Supporting community members to start solar-powered micro-enterprises — refrigeration, phone charging, small-scale milling — building economic independence.
Mphoentle is a young Motswana woman who saw how lack of electricity holds back entire communities — families, clinics, schools, and businesses. She founded Maungo a Letsatsi with a simple conviction: that sunlight is the most democratic resource on earth, and every community deserves to harvest it.
She built Maungo a Letsatsi to prove that solar energy isn't just an infrastructure solution — it's a platform for youth leadership, women's empowerment, community enterprise, and lasting dignity.
In Botswana's remote villages, thousands of households still live without electricity. Clinics cannot refrigerate medicine. Children cannot study after sunset. Families spend money on expensive diesel and dangerous kerosene instead of food and school fees. Every donation brings light and opportunity to a family waiting in the dark.
